Welcome!

My name is Jaclyn Carroll, and I am a PhD Student in Sociology at Boston College, with an MA in Communication & Advocacy Studies from James Madison University. My research is focused on deviant health behavior, public trust in expertise and regulation, misinformation, and health & environmental risk discourse. Of particular interest to me is how public health and environmentalist movements are shaped by the regulation of information, and the public’s perceptions of regulatory infrastructure.

I have had the pleasure of teaching courses in Sociology and Communication Studies at Boston College and James Madison University. Here on my site you can preview those courses, view my teaching philosophy, and access teaching resources! Thanks for coming by.
